| Elizabeth Penfold was born in Petworth, Sussex.
When she was 19 years old she married Thomas Pullen (who was 30) in
Chichester. They seem to have moved to Kent for a while - Sutton Valance
and Chart Sutton are small villages to the south east of Maidstone. They
had at least 4 children there before moving back to the Woking area around
1811/1812 where they had at least 4 more children, finally settling in
Shackleford, a small village to the SW of Guildford.
Her husband Thomas Pullen died in 1833, aged 66. Elizabeth is a pauper by the time of the 1851 census, living with 2 grandchildren. She died 6 years later and was buried in Shackleford, like her husband. |
