Elizabeth Penfold

Elizabeth Penfold was born in Petworth, Sussex. When she was 19 years old she married Thomas Pullen (who was 30) in Chichester. They seem to have moved to Kent for a while - Sutton Valance and Chart Sutton are small villages to the south east of Maidstone. They had at least 4 children there before moving back to the Woking area around 1811/1812 where they had at least 4 more children, finally settling in Shackleford, a small village to the SW of Guildford.

Her husband Thomas Pullen died in 1833, aged 66. Elizabeth is a pauper by the time of the 1851 census, living with 2 grandchildren. She died 6 years later and was buried in Shackleford, like her husband.
