Thomas Pullen

Thomas Pullen was born in Dorking, Surrey. He was the 5th child of Johnathan Pullen and Mary Brown. He seems to have travelled around a fair but, presumably for work. He married Elizabeth Penfold when he was 30 down in Chichester. She was only 19. They went on to have 4 daughters and 4 sons. The family moved around to Sutton Valance in Kent from around 1800-1812, then to Woking in 1813 where son David was born, then to Shackleford in 1815, then to Westfield, then back to Shackleford. Thomas died there in 1833 aged 66. his wife survived him for over 20 years.

There is a history of Shackleford here. Maybe Thomas was employed by the occupiers of Hall Place, or Shackleford House. There is a history here and a bill of sale from 1797
